The Philadelphia Eagles fan that was arrested for allegedly punching a police horse at the NFC Championship game in January is now suing the Philadelphia police and the Eagles claiming he did not punch the animal.

According to Joseph A. Gambardello of the Philadelphia Inquirer Josh Lambo Jersey , Andrew Tornetta filed the suit Wednesday in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

The suit claims that the alleged false arrest and beating he received afterward caused him 鈥減hysical pain, discomfort, trauma, humiliation Samson Ebukam Jersey , embarrassment, emotional distress, sleeplessness, anxiety T.Y. Hilton Jersey , inability to perform simple activities of daily living, depression characterized by feelings of despair, hopelessness, and despondency.”

The Eagles are named as defendants for supposedly failing to supervise the police acting on their behalf. The claim seeks damages in excess of $50 Colton Schmidt Jersey ,000.

Tornetta was the second Eagles fan accused of punching a police horse during the playoffs. Taylor Hendricks was arrested the week before when the Eagles played the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Divisional Round.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been one of the most outspoken NFL figures in favor of having every player standing on the field during the playing of the national anthem and he’s also been one of the leading figures in growing the league’s revenues through deals with companies like Nike.

Given those roles, it was inevitable that Jones would be asked about Nike’s new ad featuring former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Jones got the question during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday and cited Kaepernick’s grievance as a reason for not doing more than expressing his respect for the company making the league’s uniforms.

“I have tremendous respect for Nike, and Phil Knight, and everything they鈥檝e meant to sports … Because I鈥檓 in court and being sued Clayton Geathers Jersey , this is litigation and I鈥檓 not going to be able to comment on it,” Jones said.

The NFL and Nike extended their partnership through 2028 earlier this year.
